He is songwriter and musician, your job is travel all around the world doing concerts, is a person of strong character but always paying attention to what was happening in the world to provide experiences. Does not have a routine, works around the world doing concerts, help and writes songs.

VICTORIA RUFFO

She is an actress, works in soap operas, movies and theater, is a simple person and friendly. Your job is to act, attend charity events and other things.

PAULO COELHO

He is a writer of narrative and reflective novel, since October 2002 is member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters. Writes a weekly newspaper column published in media around the world. He hates the mandatory nature of religious practice. Does not support pray or go to church.

Home Sweet Home

I live in a house. In my house, there are eleven rooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, three bathrooms and five bedrooms. There's also a balcony and a garage. My house is normal size, clean and pretty.

There is a sofa, a rug, a tv and there are plants in the living room.
There is a bath, a sink and a toilet in the bathroom.
There is a refrigerator, a stove, a dish washer and a table in the kitchen.
There is a closet, a tv, a bed, a rug, an armchair, there are bedside table, lamps and bed in the bedroom.

My favorite room

In the middle of the bedroom, there is a round rug. Next to the wall (on the right), there are bedside tables and the beds.
There is a lamp on the bedside table. There is a tv in front of the bed and there is a computer on the desk. Behind the chair there is a sofa.

The Hallacas

One of the most recognized and processed food that is presented in Venezuelan cuisine is without doubt the hallaca. This masterpiece of our cooking is the most traditional of dishes that adorn the Christmas holidays in Venezuela.
The hallaca is the result of the historical process that has lived our society.
From the banana leaves that cover up the details that embellish and make up your stew, through its primary ingredient, corn dough colored with annatto, the hallaca is the most visible expression of the mixing of Venezuelans. Each ingredient has its roots: the banana leaf, used by both, the black African and the American Indian, is the wonderful wrapping , to discover, bring to mind our indigenous past, even though the mass of corn colored with annatto is which welcomes us with its magnificent yellow, inside, to appreciate the Spanish arrived in these lands, we can find chicken meat, pork and beef, olives, capers, raisins ... All finely chopped, cooked and beautifully distributed become part of a delicacy. Its ingredients, all part of different backgrounds, harmoniously complement the hallaca, mixing and colorful expression that is part of our people.
The word "hallaca" comes from the Guarani and derived from the word "ayúa" or "ayuar" which means to mix or stir. Whatever the origin of this word is, we know that "hallaca" is completely Venezuela, by its name and by its construction and the pride of our kitchen, without social distinctions as she presents at the splendid Christmas table of all Venezuelans, adding a touch of great taste and flavor to our Christmas.
In the month of December when the holidays overwhelm the joy of Venezuela, the hallaca is an important part of the celebration, you can exchange it, give away, sell ... well, in Venezuela's Christmas you can not miss the hallaca.

CHINITA'S FAIR

Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquirá or the Virgin of Chiquinquirá is a title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the northern Andean region of South America. She is the patron saint of Colombia, the Venezuelan state of Zulia, and the town of Caraz in Peru.

The people of Maracaibo celebrate the Chinita's fair in November with an all-night party. One of the main city avenues, Bella Vista, is closed for several blocks and the city puts lights along the whole avenue. The lights stay up for months, until after Christmas. There are stages set up, sponsored by the government and businesses around the city. There are firework shows and street vendors, and hundreds of thousands of people line the streets and celebrate all night.

The Chinita’s fair officially begins on October 27th when the Virgin is taken down from the altar in which she rests. She tours all over the Zulia State and returns to the Basilica to start all the religious festivities. Around October 2nd, Bella Vista Avenue sees itself lit up by all the Christmas decorations and the local government promotes a series of public concerts with national and international artists to begin the “real” fair. Crowds of people go together to different stages or platforms devised to host these concerts.

Other cultural activities are held during the fair. Expo-Zulia is a temporary marketplace where the zulians show a great deal products that characterize our region. Many merchants, stores, companies and artisans offer their products at reasonably low prices. The Bullfights are also popular and a number of these are held in our bullring. The “Toros coleados” is another event that people don’t usually miss. Many “gaiteros” gather in front of the basilica to sing their best gaitas to please the patron virgin of our people putting an end to the “gaita season”.

Maria: In Venezuela it is also common.
Sofia: People often go in groups.
Salomon: Are you dating someone?
Sofia: No, I'm not dating anybody
Maria: Yes, I’m dating you.
Sofia: When you go to the movies, who pays for the movie?
Maria: Salo usually pays but sometimes his mom hahaha.

Schedule of the week

This is my daily schedule of the week. On Monday morning I have math class and I have my afternoon nap, at noon on Tuesday help my mom and chemistry study evening. On Wednesday afternoon I help my nieces to do their homework and then at night I walk to the park. On Thursday I have a study group and at night I see my favorite series, Friday I have the day off in college and take care of my nieces in the morning then at night I hear the radio show of my friend Ana Isabel. On Saturday I go shopping with my mom and my sister, and then at night go to the disco with my friends. Finally on Sunday afternoon I go out to eat with my family and then go to the movies with my friend Anna Meyendorff.

Me at Caracas

In this blog I will post my school homework for Level 4. I will use it to practice writing, listening, speaking and reading. Also, i will share it with my classmates and people from the world.

My name is María Marín but you can call me Mari. I’m from Maracaibo, a city and municipality located in northwestern Venezuela off the western coast of the Lake Maracaibo. Maracaibo is nicknamed "The Beloved Land of the Sun".  I’m 18 years old and I study industrial engineering at URBE. My favorite subjects are mathematics and Chemistry. This trimester I am taking 6 classes and I am in the second trimester.

I love music, dancing, go to the movies, share with my nieces, surfing the net, talking on the phone with my friends, quesillo, my family and my country. I also enjoy going out with my friends.

My favorite things

My favorite singer is Ricardo Arjona I really like his lyrics and songs is a very good composer. Love it Garfield.

I hate pizza, listening to rock, getting up early on the weekend, violence, war, injustice, and washing the dishes. I can't stand people smoking.

My dream is to travel around the world,  visit my friend Ana Isabel in the USA, visit Argentina and The Eiffel Tower in Paris. Of course, I want to graduate from Engineering School and be a good engineer. I’d love to work in an important company, buy a house and a car, get married and start a family.

About English, I think is very important. What do I do to practice my English? well, I listen to music, read and watch TV in English. It’s a good exercise. I also chat on the internet and have friends in many countries. I use social networks like facebook and twitter to connect to people around the world and make friends. I want to practice in class and out of class, too. I hope I can make a lot of friends and practice speaking in this class.
